Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences

My earlier post about Little Hearts and the free Cardiology service provided by the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences, Bangalore, started as an email forward from our Vice President, Mr. Santhosh George. Before posting I Googled for this hospital.

Their page on the Cardiology Department says:

The Department of Cardiology is the entry point for access to the specialized cardiac care in Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences. The Department’s primary objective is to deliver high quality, cardiovascular care to all of our patients, in the hospital as well as in the outpatient setting completely free of charge. …

As I said before, this is a very important message. Please help spread the word.

Update:

The more I read about this Hospital, the more amazed I am. Their Radiology Department’s web page has the following:

The Department of Radiology at SSSIHMS, Bangalore is a highly specialized, full-service department which strives to meet all patient and clinician needs in diagnostic imaging. We perform over 25,000 diagnostic studies in a year. It is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and predominantly meets the Imaging requirements of Cardiac and Neuro specialties of the hospital. It is totally paperless department with all the requisitions and reports transacted online using the Hospital Information system. All the Imaging studies excepting Radiography are viewed on workstations and reported.

Even the corporate hospitals of India like Apollo etc have not yet reached this level.
