When it came to power in 2004, Sonia Gandhi’s UPA government promised a lot of things. Like many governments before them, particularly COngress governments, they have only made halfhearted attempts to deliver on their promises. The man on the street pays his tax regularly. Oh I don’t mean the politicians and the Ram Lingam Rajus. [...] PVR Cinemas has come up with a novel scheme to get parents to buy movie tickets. Any student with more than 80% marks as proved by her report card (bring a photocopy) will get a free weekday movie ticket between March 4 and April 15, 2009.
