I was pleasantly surprised today with my experience with the ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund web site, the PruTracker. I have multiple portfolios with ICICI as I used different vehicles to purchase their funds over the years. I had lost track of one folio and found it again in a CAMS report. This particular folio was not available in my PruTracker login.
Today I was trying to find the IPIN Form download on the PruTracker web site thinking that I would have to fill it out and visit CAMS again to get an IPIN for the missing folio and that it would take at least a week or so. I was therefore surprised to see a link to “Generate an IPIN Online, Instantly…”. Well, I stared at it for a while and then clicked it. It walked me through a wizard asking for details of the folio, my bank account, PAN etc. All the personal data that is associated with the folio and is unique to me. All the data that is actually needed to uniquely identify me as the owner of the folio. And data that only I should be able to provide.
Neat!
I haven’t seen this with any other Indian AMC.
So I jumped right in, very excited. I wouldn’t have to wait a week after all! Then of course I hit a snag. The Wizard didn’t work. It kept complaining that I had given it the wrong data. But I hadn’t! It was frustrating and a big let down.
A tried a few combinations since this was an old folio I hadn’t used for a while. But no joy. Then I decided to brave the call center. The girl who answered had me fill in the details again. I repeated each value as I filled in the form and she stopped me when I came to the PAN. They had the wrong PAN! One digit was wrong. A 8 had become a 3. No wonder the thing wouldn’t work! The girl at the call center had me use the wrong PAN and complete the process. And then she registered a service request to correct the PAN.
So I ended up with the folio linked to my PruTracker login in about 20 mins. Not bad. And if there hadn’t been the problem with the PAN it would not have taken me more than a few minutes. Fill out the wizard’s forms, go check your email, click the link they send you and you are done!
Cool.
No paper work. Simple. Effective. Gets the job done.
Good job ICICI Prudential. You guys have typically been on the forefront of technology usage in the retail financial sector in India and I thank you for it. I hope to see an ever improving user experience from you people.

I applied for SIP along with the innitial application and payment for the aforesaid plan of your MF. This was accepted and ackowledged by you on 05 January 2011.
But now I am shocked and surprised by the lacadiastic and delayed respose to turn down the SIP vide envelop no.194 dated 19 January 2011 addressed to me by your “Registrar Computer Age Management Services Pvt Ltd”, Which reached me by ordinary post on taday( 26 January 2011).
If you have not been able to find the account holders name in the initial application, you should have rejected the same much earlier I have mentioned my email and telephone numbers.
If your registrars is so casual, I hardly expect ant good servise from your organisation.
Can the observation be rectified on line ?

The above mentioned Mutual Fund was readeemed 2 years back. I have received cheque after lot of persuations, but found name was wrongly spelled out. Hence returned back.

Hi, When the policy’s are sold, your rep promises the growth as minimum it will fetch more that what you save in FD, today even after 4 years of investments , the amount is lesser or even with the premium paid. this is not surely acceptable.

sir I have made sip for rs.1000/ on 10/05/2011. In the name of Manisha U Motwani. under folio no.5642176/69 K Y C was enclosed with the application. un fortunatly name apears MANISH instead of MANISHA I have asked to correct the name as MANISHA IN the records.
Your office staff have told me that you (I) have filled the form wrongly that stays as MANISH, no mater you pl.send us a letter from party saying my name was wrongly written in application, no need to fill on stamp paper. I have done the same as your staff said to me in the month of may 2011. No reply from your side. I thought work may done. I was surprised in the month of july, no result, I have asked what is the result for above said folio. your staff told to me that this letter must be attested by notary. I have done the same in the month of december 2011. still the result is zeero. what your staff is doing , i have asked for above folio, now your staff is saying the party’s signature is mismatching from our records.what a surprise, when we send money from party you accept it without checking K Y C . then why sebi has imposed us to make kyc for parties to invest in mf? when kyc is with you why you have accepted the application? a simple thing is there When I buy a railway ticket for banglore & I start journy in bhopal train the T C immediatly say to get down from the train & ask us to go in an other train, what your MBA staff is doing?
